Abstract

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is a type of extracellular circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) released into the blood of cancer patients by apoptosis and necrosis of tumor cells. It represents an alternative biomarker for the qualitative and quantitative analysis, that, hand in hand with PET / CT imaging, might refine the assessment of treatment response in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma. As a dynamic parameter, it could find its application in diagnostic screening for mutations, during the treatment and at the end of treatment in evaluating its effectiveness, as well as in further monitoring in order to early predict possible relapse.
