About the Journal

The journal Transfuze a hematologie dnes (Transfusion and Haematology Today) is the official medium of the Society for Transfusion Medicine, the Czech Society of Haematology, and the Czech Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis of the Czech Medical Society of J. E. Purkyně. Publisher of the journal is the Czech Medical Society of JE Purkyně. Issuer is the company Care Comm.

The journal accepts original papers, reviews, case reports and letters to the editor on transfusion medicine and haematology, with the possibility of publishing related topics from other medical disciplines.

The main focus of the journal is to serve for the postgraduate education of the Societiesʼ members and other readers.

The journal also publishes information from the societies, organisational and professional reports (e.g. concepts of the field, guidelines for the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures), major results of meetings of the societies with important Czech and international institutions, and important personal reports.

The journal inform about Czech and foreign congresses, and forms the space for professional discussions on current topics related to the fields of haematology and transfusion medicine, and the activities of the professional societies.

The distribution of printed issues – as opposed to special-purpose publications – is by subscription. For members of the Society for Transfusion Medicine, the Czech Society of Haematology, and the Czech Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis of the Czech Medical Society of J.E. Purkyně, the subscription is part of the membership fee and they will receive the journal automatically.

The journal is run by a prestigious editorial board and has high credibility thanks to a standard two-sided anonymous peer-review process with the dominant use of independent reviewers from outside the editorial board.
